Our History

Copper Penny Farms is a family owned and operated farm in the Central Valley of California. With our main business office located around the kitchen table at our home in Hughson, we have pastures scattered around the valley. We currently raise both registered and commercial Boer meat goats.

What began as a challenge to our children to create and plan a family business, has evolved from a few show animals to business where each member of the family could explore what really drives their motivation and discover work that makes them happy. After several months of discussions and brainstorming, a seemingly natural path was to follow something we were already doing and wanted to continue to do. Starting out with goats, pigs, chickens, rabbits and some row crops we decided to streamline our efforts into our goat herd….and in 2018 Copper Penny Farms was born

With each of our 8 children each playing a role in its success and failures, Copper Penny has evolved over the years from a few show animals to a functional family farm, business, and a growing herd with each member of the family discovering their roles and contributing to our growth. From animal care to media to operations and more, each member of the family contributes in addition to their personal schedules and everyone has a hand in the dirty work.
